Hey, darling!

Welcome back to the blog! Today has been one of those fulfilling days where I got to wear so many hats—wife, mum, homemaker, and a bit of a creative cook too! I baked a double chocolate cake because my hubby loves it, and I also made some delicious banana fritters because, well, I could see the bananas were about to go bad. Plus, my daughter loves them, so it was a win-win! And then, as I looked at all the leftover rice in the fridge, I turned it into creamy rice pudding so nothing would go to waste. It felt so good to be resourceful and make the most of what I already had in the house, especially when you’re learning to be a good steward of all things, big and small. I’ve been trying to avoid running to the store every minute to grab new ingredients, and it feels like I’m finally getting the hang of making the most out of what I’ve got, whether it’s leftovers or those last few bananas that need a little creativity to save them.

But it’s in these moments when I’m folding laundry, prepping dinner, or even just wiping down the counters that I’m reminded of how important it is to reset, reframe, and reignite the fire for God that sometimes gets dimmed by the day-to-day distractions. It’s so easy to fall into a lukewarm phase, where our faith feels like just another task on a never-ending to-do list. But the good news is: that it doesn’t have to stay that way. If you’re feeling the same, trust me, you are not alone.

Let’s talk about how you can reignite your passion for Christ.

1. Recommit Your Life to God

The first step to renewing your faith is to intentionally recommit your life to Christ. This isn’t just a one-time decision but a daily surrender. Pray with honesty, admitting your need for Him and asking for His guidance to change your heart. Don’t let guilt or shame hold you back, God’s grace is abundant, and He longs for you to draw near.

“Come near to God, and He will come near to you.” — James 4:8

2. Hate Sin and Avoid Temptation

A lukewarm faith often means we’ve allowed sin to creep in unnoticed. Identify the habits, mindsets, or environments that are pulling you away from God, and take active steps to remove them from your life. Be vigilant about what you consume music, movies, or social media and guard your heart against influences that don’t honour Him.

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace.” — 2 Timothy 2:22

3. Make Room for God in Your Environment

One of the biggest obstacles to spiritual growth is the content we consume and the company we keep.

  • Be careful what you watch and listen to. Does your entertainment glorify God or promote values that draw you away from Him?
  • Choose your friends wisely. Surround yourself with people who encourage your faith, not those who dilute it.
  • Stop hanging out with lukewarm people. If someone’s spiritual indifference is dragging you down, it may be time to set boundaries.

Evaluate your environment. Are the shows you binge, the music you play, and the people you surround yourself with pulling you closer to Christ or further away? Create a space where God’s presence can flourish.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

4. Spend Time With God Daily

Make God your priority. Set aside intentional time every day to pray, read the Bible, and reflect on His Word. Think of this time as a relationship-builder with your Creator. Even if it’s just a few minutes to start, consistency will deepen your connection with Him.

Practical tips:

  • Begin your day with a simple prayer of gratitude and surrender.
  • Use a Bible study plan to guide your reading.
  • Journal your thoughts, prayers, and what you’re learning from Scripture.

5. Develop a Prayer Life That’s Real and Raw

Prayer is your lifeline to God. It’s not about using the “right” words or following a perfect formula—it’s about being real and connecting with Him. Use this simple framework for daily prayer:

  1. Praise God for who He is. Take a moment to honour Him as your Creator, Savior, and Provider.
  2. Confess your sins. Be honest about where you’ve fallen short and ask for His forgiveness.
  3. Thank Him for His blessings. Gratitude shifts your perspective and reminds you of God’s goodness.
  4. Present your needs and desires to Him. Share your heart with God, your worries, hopes, and everything in between.

Start with just a few minutes each day. Pour your heart out to God. The more you talk to Him, the more you’ll experience His presence.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

6. Join a Godly Community

You weren’t meant to walk this journey alone. Surround yourself with people who are passionate about their faith and who will encourage you to grow. This could be a church, a small group, or even an online Christian community. Having accountability partners can help keep you focused on your spiritual goals.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

7. Develop Spiritual Disciplines

Growing closer to God requires discipline, but it’s worth every effort. Focus on habits that will strengthen your faith:

  • Prayer: Use the framework above to structure your time with God.
  • Fasting: Set aside time to fast and pray for deeper clarity and connection.
  • Bible Study: Let God’s Word renew your mind and equip you to resist temptation.

8. Christ Through Obedience

True faith isn’t just about feelings it’s about action. Live out your faith by obeying God’s Word. This means aligning your life with His will, even when it’s hard. Trust that His plans for you are good and that obedience leads to true freedom.

“If you love me, keep my commands.” — John 14:15

9. Keep Your Eyes on Eternity

This world can be distracting, but everything it offers is temporary. When you feel pulled by worldly desires, remind yourself of the eternal joy waiting for those who live for Christ. Choose to live with eternity in mind, storing up treasures in heaven instead of chasing after fleeting pleasures.

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” — Colossians 3:2

10. Don’t Give Up

There will be moments when you stumble or feel distant from God, but don’t let those moments define your journey. God’s love is unwavering, and He’s always ready to welcome you back with open arms.

“The righteous may fall seven times but still get up.” — Proverbs 24:16

Exiting your lukewarm era starts with a choice, a choice to fully surrender your heart to God and pursue Him with passion and discipline. As you take these steps, you’ll find that the more you draw near to Him, the more your life will be improved.

Let today be the day you reignite your fire for Jesus and live boldly for Him. It’s never too late to pick up your cross and follow.

So darling, whether it’s the simple act of lighting your favourite candle while you tidy up, praying as you cook dinner, or giving thanks for the little moments of motherhood, you can reignite your relationship with God right where you are. You don’t need to carve out hours of quiet time to grow closer to Him. It’s about choosing to turn your heart toward Him even in the chaos, whether it’s a quick prayer during a work break or a moment of gratitude while you’re folding laundry.

So, let today be the day you shift from lukewarm to on fire for Christ. Let’s take the steps, big and small, to surrender more of our hearts, minds, and homes to Him. And as you go about your day lighting candles, making meals, creating content, and loving on your family, remember that God is with you, in every little thing you do.

Sending blessings your way!
