Hello, darling! 🤍

Welcome back to the blog! Today, I want to remind you of something so simple yet so powerful, you’re already loved, and you’re already chosen. Yes, already. And before you go off thinking, “Well, that’s easy for her to say,” let me reassure you, I’ve had my fair share of trying to prove myself to others. I’ve spent more than a few years chasing after validation, thinking I needed to be someone I wasn’t in order to feel accepted. But here’s the good news, you don’t have to do that. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. God’s love for you isn’t based on your performance, it’s unconditional. And trust me, that’s a relief.

I’ve been thinking about this truth, especially after reading Ephesians 1:4, where it says, “Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.” Let that sink in for a moment. Before the world even existed, God knew you, loved you, and chose you. And here’s the thing, you don’t have to jump through hoops or hit some imaginary “achievement quota” to get His love. It’s already yours. No need to impress anyone, not even your mum (although she’ll still be proud of you anyway).

Overcoming the need to prove ourselves is hard in a world that constantly tells us we’re not enough unless we’re busy, achieving, or meeting other people’s expectations. But I’ve learned that we don’t need to play that game. We’ve already been chosen by God. And once we grasp this, it’s like someone hands us the keys to freedom, no more chasing approval, no more constant striving. Just peace.

Overcoming the Need to Prove Ourselves

One thing I’ve noticed is that the world often pushes us to prove our worth. Whether it’s in our careers, relationships, or even our spiritual lives, there’s this constant pressure to show that we are enough. But the reality is, we were never meant to prove anything to anyone but God. If you’re like me, you’ve probably struggled with feelings of inadequacy or wondered if you’re measuring up to other’s expectations. Let me tell you that it’s okay to let go of that weight. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. You are already chosen by God.

I know it’s easier said than done, especially when we’re bombarded with messages from society telling us that our worth is tied to our accomplishments or how others view us. But I believe that the peace of knowing we are chosen in Christ transcends anything else. When you truly accept that truth, it can change everything. It can set you free from constantly striving and worrying about what others think.

The Power of God’s Unchanging Love

Sometimes, we might question God’s love, especially when things aren’t going the way we expect. “Why me?” we might ask. “What did I do to deserve God’s love?” We didn’t do anything to earn it, and we don’t have to. God’s love is a gift one that is not conditional on our actions or our circumstances. It’s because of who God is, not because of who we are, that He chooses to love us.

God’s love is constant, never changing. His love for you and me is not based on our past, our mistakes, or our failures. He loves us simply because we are His children. And if we can learn to rest in that truth, it can improve our lives.

A Lesson From the Word: I Am Chosen

I’ve been reflecting a lot on the words in John 15:16, where Jesus says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you.” This is such a powerful reminder. Before we ever had a chance to choose Him, He chose us first. This is why we don’t need to prove ourselves we are already accepted. We have already chosen.

In the world today, especially as a woman, or someone who faces challenges, it’s easy to feel like we don’t belong or that we need to fight to prove our worth. But I want to encourage you, just as I remind myself every day that You are a child of God. And because of that, you are equal in His eyes, just as I am. I am not less than. And neither are you.

Your True Identity

I know there are moments when it feels like others don’t see our value, which can be discouraging. But the only approval we need is God’s. His opinion of us is the one that truly matters, and He has already said that we are chosen, loved, and worthy.

As we move forward in our journey of faith, let’s remember that we don’t have to strive to prove ourselves. We simply need to walk in the truth of who we are in Christ. When we do that, everything else falls into place.

So, my darling, if you’re struggling with the weight of feeling like you have to prove your worth, I encourage you to take a step back and remember that you are already loved and chosen by God. You don’t need to do anything to earn His approval you already have it.

So, as I wrap up today’s little chat, I want you to carry this truth with you: You are already chosen. You are already loved. And no, this isn’t just a feel-good sentiment, it’s reality. I mean, if God thought you were good enough to love before the world even existed, I’d say that’s a pretty solid endorsement, don’t you think?

The world will always tell you to chase more, do more, and prove more. But here’s the secret: God is like that supportive friend who shows up and says, “You don’t have to do anything for me to love you. You’re already enough.” And honestly, how much easier would life be if we all could just accept that? No need to run a race that was never ours to begin with.

So, go ahead, rest in that truth. You don’t need to prove a thing to anyone, not even to your neighbour who somehow always has their life together. You are chosen. You are loved. And you are enough, just as you are.

Thank you for being part of this community. I am so grateful to walk this journey of faith with you all. Let’s keep encouraging one another, reminding each other of who we are in Christ.

God bless you,
Scherise. X
