Hey Darling! 🤍
Welcome back to the blog! Today, I want to take a moment to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately, the importance of reading your Bible. This morning, after running a few errands, squeezing in a gym session, and spending some time with my little one, I found myself reflecting on how life can get so busy. It’s easy to let things like quiet time with God slip through the cracks. But the truth is, opening up God’s Word is one of the most life-giving habits we can build.
The Bible isn’t just a book; it’s alive and filled with wisdom, comfort, and encouragement for every season of life. Whether you’re feeling strong in your faith or a little distant, His Word has the power to meet you where you are and renew your heart.
A while back, I came across a comment that resonated with me. The commenter shared that when she strayed from reading the Bible, her life would become dark. She’d fall back into old habits, and her peace would fade. But when she returned to the daily habit of renewing her mind with Scripture, it was like stepping back into the light. She found herself thriving again peaceful, joyful, and blessed. It’s a testimony that many of us can relate to.
When I read this, I was reminded of just how important it is to stay rooted in God’s Word. Life can easily become overwhelming, and distractions often pull us away from what really matters. But whenever I make the effort to read/study Scripture, my perspective shifts and everything seems to fall into place. I start to feel peace again, my joy returns, and doors open that I never expected.
God is Always at Work
Sometimes, we may read the Bible and think, “I don’t feel any different.” But let me tell you something, God is always at work. Whether you feel it or not, the Word of God is alive, sharper than a double-edged sword, and capable of piercing deep into our hearts (Hebrews 4:12). It speaks to our spirit, helping us trust God more, strengthening our faith, and aligning us with His will.
I’ve experienced firsthand how God can use Scripture to guide, heal, and shape us. Even when I don’t immediately see the results, I trust that God is doing work within me. He’s moulding my heart, renewing my mind, and preparing me for whatever is to come. The Bible is not just words on a page, it’s a living testimony of God’s faithfulness, and it’s meant to speak into our lives today.
A Habit of Nourishing Your Spirit
The more we engage with God’s Word, the more we realise it’s not just a book; it’s our spiritual food. Just like we nourish our bodies with food, we nourish our spirits with the Word. Every verse, every chapter helps to build up our faith, wisdom, and peace. The Bible has everything we need, comfort, direction, encouragement, and correction.
I love how one of my sisters in Christ, literally yesterday said it perfectly: “Reading the Bible is our spiritual food!” It’s a reminder that every time we open the Bible, we’re feeding our souls. It’s helping us grow in faith, giving us clarity, and bringing peace into our hearts. And every time I read, I discover something new, something that speaks to my current situation. God’s Word is truly alive, and it never grows old.
Trusting in God’s Wisdom
It’s not always easy to understand everything in the Bible, and that’s okay. I’ve had moments where I read a passage and thought, “I don’t get it.” But I choose to trust God’s wisdom over my own. As I meditate on the Scriptures daily, I begin to see things from His perspective. The more I read, the more I understand the context, the culture, and most importantly, the heart of God. I may have doubts, but I know that as I continue seeking Him through His Word, my faith will grow, and my understanding will deepen.
Staying Consistent in His Word
In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to get distracted or feel like we don’t have time to read the Bible. But the truth is, reading the Bible is one of the most powerful things we can do for our spiritual health. It’s the foundation that helps us in life, no matter what challenges come our way.
One of the readers of this blog shared via email, how she was struggling with her Bible reading, feeling bored and disconnected. But instead of pushing it aside, she prayed and asked God to give her enthusiasm. When she made the effort to read Scripture with an open heart, everything shifted. She began to understand more, and her relationship with God grew stronger.
If you’re in a season where reading your Bible feels like a chore or you’re just not feeling it, I encourage you to push through. Pray for a renewed desire to seek Him. Ask Him to open your heart to the beauty of His Word. God is faithful, and He will meet you where you are.
God is Speaking to You Through His Word
At the end of the day, God wants to speak to you through His Word. The Bible is His love letter to us. He wants us to know Him, trust Him, and rely on Him. And when we read the Bible, we open the door for Him to do just that.
Remember, the Word of God is living and powerful. Even when you don’t feel it, God is working in your life. Take time each day to read, and let His Word renew your spirit. The more we make it a priority, the more we’ll experience His promises.
As I wrap up this blog post, I want to encourage you to carve out time for God’s Word. Even if it’s just a few minutes a day, those moments have the power to shift your perspective, renew your mind, and bring peace into your life.
If you’ve been struggling to stay consistent, don’t be discouraged. Pray and ask God to reignite your desire for Scripture, and trust that He will meet you there. Every time you open the Bible, you invite Him to work in your heart, and I promise, He is faithful to respond.
Let’s stay rooted in His Word together and trust the process. Remember, His love for you is endless, and He’s always speaking, sometimes it’s just a matter of slowing down and listening.
Sending you all love, blessings, and prayers as we continue this journey of faith. 🤍
