Hello darling,
Welcome back to the blog! Before sitting down to write this, I was in the middle of one of those typical, non-stop mornings. My hubby and I have been working on a joint project—something we’ve kept under wraps for now but are super excited about. Mornings like these are often a balancing act. While we juggle brainstorming sessions, running errands, and keeping everything in motion, we still find moments to breathe. Today, after a quick lunch and some much-needed quiet time, I decided to take a moment in my office to reflect. Life has its busy seasons, but even in the midst of it, God often whispers truths to us—truths that anchor us, like the message I’m about to share.
Now that my little one is enjoying her time in the garden, I’ve got a moment to talk about this topic that’s been on my heart: knowing that God has already qualified you, even when you feel like you’re not enough.
There are moments in life when we look at our circumstances and think, “I’m not qualified for this.” We doubt ourselves, feel overwhelmed, and struggle to see how things could ever work out. Maybe it’s the fear of failure or the weight of imposter syndrome, but it’s a battle many of us face, myself included.
God Has Already Qualified You
I remember a time when I was going through a tough season feeling lost, uncertain, and unsure about what the future held. Life felt heavy, and I struggled to see a way forward. I was dealing with so much on my own and felt like I didn’t have anyone close to truly understand what I was going through. It was in those moments of doubt, questioning God’s promises, that I found comfort in the truth: God has already qualified me. I might not have the answers or see the full picture, but I know that when He calls us, He also equips us.
I’ve had to remind myself time and time again that, no matter how many flaws or weaknesses I might have, God doesn’t look at the things that disqualify me in the natural world, He looks at my heart. In fact, the very things I might think disqualify me are the things that God uses to display His power. He takes our inabilities and turns them into opportunities to show His glory. Think about it: He doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called.
Overcoming Comparison and Doubt
It’s easy to look at others and think they have it all together. Maybe you’re seeing someone achieve their goals, progress in their career, or excel in their personal life, and you start comparing yourself. You wonder why you haven’t reached that same level yet. But here’s the thing, comparison steals joy and peace. It tells you that you’re not enough and that you can’t accomplish what God has called you to.
There was a time when a friend of mine struggled with imposter syndrome. She’d often ask herself, “Why me? Why would God give me something good when I don’t feel worthy of it?” But one day, it clicked for her—why not me? God doesn’t look at our outward appearances or our qualifications; He looks at our hearts and sees potential we can’t even see in ourselves. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being willing and trusting that God can use us despite our imperfections.
Trusting God’s Timing
I also think about those times when we feel like we’re not moving forward. Maybe we’ve applied for a job or started something new, and the doors seem to close instead of opening. It’s discouraging. But I’ve learned that God’s timing is perfect. Just because we face setbacks doesn’t mean He’s not working behind the scenes. When we step out in faith, He moves mountains on our behalf, even when we don’t see it happening right away.
I’ve seen people, myself included, disqualify themselves before even trying. We let fear and doubt take the lead, convincing ourselves that we’re not good enough for what God is calling us to do. But here’s the truth: If God has placed a calling on your life, He will make a way. The Bible says in Isaiah 43:19, “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” What’s amazing is that He’s already working things out for you, even when it feels like nothing is happening.
You Are Qualified
You might feel like you’re not qualified, that your dreams are too big, or that your past mistakes are too much for God to overcome. But I want to remind you today: You are qualified by the One who created you. Stop disqualifying yourself. The same God who called you will empower you to fulfil the purpose He has for your life. When you feel weak, His strength will carry you. When you feel uncertain, His guidance will direct you.
Tips for Embracing Your Qualification in God:
- Acknowledge Your Worth: Stop looking at your flaws and focus on the fact that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14). He sees potential in you, even when you can’t see it in yourself.
- Step Out in Faith: Take that first step towards your goal, no matter how small. Trust that God is already working behind the scenes, even when it doesn’t look like anything is happening.
- Silence the Inner Critic: The voice of doubt and fear will always be there, but don’t let it be louder than the voice of truth. Remind yourself of God’s promises, like Philippians 4:13—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
- Avoid Comparison: Embrace your unique journey and trust that God has a specific path for you. Your story is not meant to be the same as anyone else’s. Focus on your own growth and progress.
- Pray for Guidance: When you feel uncertain, go to God in prayer. Ask for His direction and trust that He will lead you according to His perfect will. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
If you’re doubting yourself today, take a moment to pause and reflect. Remember that God has already said yes to you, even if you haven’t fully grasped it yet. Stop letting fear, doubt, and comparison disqualify you. You are chosen, you are loved, and you are capable because He is with you every step of the way.
As I finish up this blog post, I just want to leave you with this encouragement: you are enough because God says you are. You don’t have to strive for perfection, and you don’t need the world’s validation to step into the purpose He has for you. Remember, God doesn’t look at your shortcomings, He looks at your heart, and He’s already equipped you with everything you need to fulfil His calling.
So, as you go about your day, whether it’s tackling your to-do list, spending time with loved ones, or simply taking a moment to rest, know this: you are chosen, you are loved, and you are capable. Lean into His promises, and let His truth guide you forward.
Thank you for taking the time to read today’s post. I pray that it blesses you and reminds you of the power of walking confidently in God’s purpose. Let’s continue moving forward in faith, one step at a time. 💛
Sending blessings to you!
