Hey darling,
Welcome back to the blog! First off, I want to give a huge shoutout to all of you who checked in with me while I was taking a little break from content creation. Seriously, your messages, prayers, and love have been everything. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking stepping back from something I love so much, but knowing I’ve got a supportive community like you behind me makes it all worth it. So, a massive thank you for being the amazing, kind-hearted online family that you are.
Now, let’s talk about something that’s been on my heart lately, those tough seasons in life. You know, the ones where everything seems to go just a little off-track (okay, maybe more than a little) and you start asking yourself, “God, are you sure about this? Did you accidentally forget about me down here?” I’ve been there. It’s like life hands you a plate of problems, and suddenly, you’ve got a mountain of mashed potatoes instead of just one scoop—, all life’s version of a bad buffet. But here’s the thing, we all have our moments, and I want to talk about how we can get through them together.
Trust me, I get it. The struggles pile up, the to-do list feels like it’s never-ending, and the world around you seems to be moving at full speed while you’re just trying to catch your breath. So grab your favourite cosy blanket, maybe some snacks (I’m all about those midnight cravings, so no judgment if it’s chips), and let’s get into today’s episode. We’re talking about feeling overwhelmed, questioning your faith, and most importantly, finding peace in the middle of the chaos.
The Struggle Is Real
It’s hard. Life isn’t always easy, and sometimes it feels like the struggles keep piling up. Whether it’s financial stress, relationship challenges, health issues, or the weight of unspoken burdens, it can leave you feeling like you’re drowning. I saw one comment that hit me deeply: “I’ve been feeling tired lately. There’s just so much going on in my mind—overthinking, anxiety, and depressive thoughts. I feel hopeless, too tired to fight, and I don’t know if I have faith anymore.”
I want you to know that if you’re feeling this way right now, you’re not alone. I’ve been there, and I know how exhausting it can be. But even in those moments, there is a truth I hold onto: God has not abandoned me. He hasn’t abandoned you either.
God’s Presence in the Storm
It’s easy to feel like God isn’t near when you’re going through tough times. When things aren’t going the way you want or hope for, you might start to doubt whether He’s listening. “Why is this happening to me?” you might ask. “Has God forgotten about me?”
I’ve asked these questions too. And it’s okay to feel that way. But here’s what I’ve learned in my walk with God: just because you can’t feel His presence, it doesn’t mean He isn’t there. Often it’s in the most difficult seasons of life that we experience God’s presence more than ever before.
Psalm 13 is a scripture that’s comforted me during times of feeling abandoned. David writes, “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?” (Psalm 13:1-2)
David understood what it felt like to be in a season of despair. But he didn’t stay there. He pressed on, and so should we. Even in the darkest times, God’s love remains constant. Even when it feels like He’s silent, He is still working behind the scenes, and He’s drawing us closer to Himself. And that’s something to hold onto when everything else feels uncertain.
It’s Just a Season
I want to remind you that no matter how long the storm may seem, it’s just a season. Just like the seasons of nature change, the seasons in our lives change too. The Bible says, “For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). The hardships you’re facing right now won’t last forever. This too shall pass.
One thing that really hit home for me during my reflection on these tough seasons is the reminder that God is refining us through our trials. It’s not always easy, and it’s definitely not painless, but God uses these seasons to grow our faith, strengthen our character, and draw us closer to Him.
How to Navigate the Tough Seasons
- Trust that God is still with you. Even when you can’t see Him or feel Him, He’s there. And He’s not going anywhere. Hold on to that truth.
- Give yourself grace. It’s okay to feel tired. It’s okay to feel worn out. You don’t have to have it all together all the time. God knows our hearts and our struggles. He’s not disappointed in us for feeling weak or weary.
- Lean into prayer and the Word. I’ve found that when I’m struggling the most, that’s when I need God’s Word more than ever. If you’re feeling spiritually dry, spend time in prayer. Even if you don’t have the words, God hears your heart. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
- Remember, this is part of your testimony. You’re going through this for a reason. The trials you face now will one day be a testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness. And that testimony will encourage others who are going through the same thing.
You Are Not Alone
Finally, I want you to know that you are not alone in your struggles. We are a family in Christ, and we are here to support each other. If you’re struggling, please reach out, whether it’s through prayer, community, or just a word of encouragement. God is working in each of us, and together, we will overcome.
I want to leave you with a verse that’s been a constant source of hope for me: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
The storm will pass. I know I know, sometimes it feels like it’s been raining non-stop for years, but the truth is, every season has an end, and this one is no different. What you’re going through right now isn’t permanent, and even though it feels like you’ve been waiting forever for a break, I promise God is working behind the scenes, even when it doesn’t feel like it. I mean, have you ever tried making a cake without knowing all the ingredients were hidden in the cupboard? Kind of like that! God’s got things cooking that we can’t always see, but trust me, He’s always working things out for our good.
If you’re feeling exhausted or worn down by this season, just know that you’re not alone. Trust me, I’ve been there, cracked phone screen, messy hair, full inbox, and everything…thinking, “Can I get a break, Lord?” It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to say, “I need a moment.” It’s okay to not have it all figured out.
You know, sometimes it takes a little laughter (even if it’s just laughing at how ridiculous life can get) to remember that God’s got this. And when you come through to the other side, you’ll have a testimony to share that not only glorifies God but encourages others too. So give yourself grace, keep praying, and lean into His word. And if all else fails, pour yourself a cup of tea, take a deep breath, and remember, this is just a season. You’re stronger than you think, and God’s always with you.
I’m proud of you, darling. Seriously. Keep the faith, hang in there, and until next time, remember, God’s got your back, even when your hair’s a mess and your coffee’s cold. 💛
Sending blessings to you!
