Hello darling,
Welcome back to the blog! For the longest time, I believed that self-care was just something you squeezed in when everything else was done, a bonus, not a priority. Honestly, I thought focusing on myself too much was selfish. I mean, with a family to care for, work to do, and spiritual growth to focus on, where does a bubble bath or a good nail kit fit in? But you know what I’ve learned? That mindset was a trap.
God’s been working on my heart about this, teaching me that true self-care, done with the right perspective isn’t selfish. It’s actually a way of honouring the body, mind, and soul He’s entrusted to me. Caring for ourselves can make us better stewards of His gifts, more present in our relationships, and more aligned with the plans He has for us. It’s not just about looking good or feeling pampered (although let’s not underestimate the power of a good face mask!); it’s about making space for restoration so we can keep showing up as our best selves.
Here’s a little behind-the-scenes moment: When I first tried to get serious about self-care, I was a hot mess. I’d buy random skincare products without understanding what they did (don’t ask me about the time I broke out after a DIY charcoal mask disaster), and I’d feel guilty every time I spent money on something “just for me.” But as I began to understand that self-care isn’t a luxury it’s a way to steward what God has given me I started approaching it differently.
Today, we’re diving into a concept I like to call Christian Women Care Day. Think of it as equal parts soul care and spa vibes, with a sprinkle of real talk. We’ll talk about skincare routines that make you feel radiant, and how to carve out time for Bible study even in the busiest seasons.
My hope is that this post inspires you to see self-care as more than just “me time.” It’s about nurturing yourself in ways that honour God, care for the temple He’s given you, and help you show up fully in the roles He’s called you to.

Skincare & Self-Care Routine
Let’s start with some skincare! It’s so important to take care of our skin, as it’s the temple of the Holy Spirit. I’ve been loving:
- The Body Shop – Vitamin C, Glow-Revealing Liquid Peel
- Paula’s Choice – BHA Liquid Exfoliant
- Paula’s Choice – Pore-Reducing Toner
- Neutrogena -Retinol Boost + Intense Care Cream
They have been working wonders for me, and if you’re looking to renew your skin, I highly recommend them all. You can grab them from Amazon & The Body Shop, and I’ll make sure to link them in the description for you! There’s something so peaceful about taking the time to nourish your skin while reflecting on God’s goodness and how He’s created us.
Self-care isn’t just about physical beauty – it’s about honouring our bodies and taking care of our mental health too. During my skincare routine, I like to spend some time meditating on God’s word and talking to Him. That’s my true source of rejuvenation!
Bible Study Time
After my skincare routine, I move into Bible study. This is honestly the best part of my self-care day. Recently, I’ve been loving using Enduring Word for my studies – it’s a great resource for digging deep into the scriptures. I know it’s not just about reading the Word, but truly understanding it and applying it to our lives. One verse that’s been on my heart lately is from Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Sometimes, we rush through life and forget to pause, listen, and hear from God. But this verse reminds me that in the stillness, God speaks. And He gives us peace – a peace that surpasses all understanding. If you’re ever looking for a Bible study resource, I highly recommend checking out Enduring Word.
Nails & Relaxation
Now, let’s talk nails. I love having well-groomed nails as a part of my self-care, and it’s a simple yet effective way to feel put together. However, I’ve had a few struggles with nails breaking lately. So, I’ve been focusing on strengthening them with some nourishing oils and regular manicures. It’s a small thing, but it’s such a beautiful reminder that even in the little things, we can honour God with how we care for ourselves.
Also, I know a lot of us women of faith struggle with finding balance when it comes to taking care of our bodies while also staying humble and grounded in the Word. But taking care of ourselves doesn’t take away from our faith – it’s actually a way of honouring God, who created us in His image!
💕 If you’ve made it to the end of this blog post, thank you for hanging out with me! Writing this felt like sitting down with a good friend over coffee and spilling all the little lessons, mishaps, and wins I’ve picked up along the way.
Let me pull back the curtain a bit more before we go. When I first started taking self-care seriously, I felt silly. I’d carve out time for a face mask and then feel guilty about the dishes in the sink. I’d start a Bible study and then get interrupted by the million little demands of life. Some days, it felt impossible to balance everything. But here’s what I’ve learned: Self-care isn’t about perfection or getting it all right. It’s about making small, intentional choices that honour God and create space for Him to restore you.
On the hard days, I remind myself of this: even Jesus took time to step away, rest, and recharge. He knew the importance of pausing, and if the Savior of the world needed that, who am I to think I don’t?
So whether your self-care looks like a full-blown at-home spa day, a quiet moment with your Bible or a simple prayer whispered in the chaos, know this: God delights in you taking time to care for what He’s given you. It’s not vanity; it’s stewardship.
Let me leave you with this verse that has been an anchor for me:
“Come to me, all who labour and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
Take that rest. Care for yourself. And trust that in doing so, you’re honouring the One who loves you most.
Until next time, keep showing up for yourself, keep leaning into God, and maybe treat yourself to that nail kit you’ve been eyeing you deserve it!
Sending blessings to you!
