Hello, darling.

It’s been a long time since I posted anything, and I’ve been silent on my platforms for months. But in that silence, I have found a huge sense of peace.

I’ve been online for as long as I can remember. Before I was a coach, I ran a marketing agency, and even before that, I had a little fashion blog. My life has always been intertwined with the digital world, to the point where it felt like I didn’t know a world outside of it. Even when I took breaks from social media, it felt odd and time-limited. I was always concerned about losing followers and staying relevant.

A Shift in Perspective

But then something shifted. I reached a point where I stopped caring about the numbers. I realized that those who truly valued my content would appreciate the time I took to come back with more meaningful insights. This was the beginning of a transition for me.

Discovering My True Interests

Originally, I used my skills in marketing and business to make money online. It was easy and natural for me. But over time, I discovered a deep interest in mindset and personal development. I spent countless hours researching breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga. This interest led me down a path of exploring the law of attraction and other new-age concepts.

The Conflict with New Age Practices

At first glance, these concepts didn’t seem harmful. In fact, some principles even appeared to be biblical. But over time, I noticed how they were often altered to fit worldly desires and consumerism. People would label me as part of the “new age” movement, but I always felt conflicted because I didn’t fully agree with many of its tenets.

I still meditate and practice mindfulness, but now I include God in these practices.

Some techniques can be useful for Christians, but others have been distorted to fit trends. Speaking positively, for example, is in the Bible. The Bible talks about speaking life and death, but without Jesus at the centre, it’s hard to distinguish what’s truly beneficial.

Growing up, we stopped going to church, but I still had my little pocket Bible. I would read Psalms my grandma gave me during tough times, but I didn’t have a close enough relationship with the Lord to truly understand. Just praying without understanding isn’t enough. Christianity is a way of living, not just practices you follow.

A Spiritual Awakening

I started to wake up to this. This internal conflict made me realize that I needed a clearer spiritual path. I wasn’t aligning with the law of attraction and other similar practices. While I still valued meditation and mindfulness, I began to incorporate these practices with a focus on God. This change brought a profound sense of peace and clarity.

Cleaning House: Books, Content, and Friends

I started to reevaluate everything in my life. I looked at my bookshelf and saw many books that no longer aligned with my new path. Books by scientists and authors that went against biblical principles had to go. I unsubscribed from YouTube channels and podcasts that didn’t align with my faith. I deleted 200 podcast episodes because they didn’t fit my new path. Since having my daughter, my journey has sped up. This process of decluttering extended to my social circle as well. I realized the importance of having friends who shared or respected my Christian values.

The Importance of Community

Having a supportive community has been crucial. My Christian friends provide advice and support that align with the word of God. It’s not about having only Christian friends, but about having a core group that can offer guidance based on biblical principles. This has been invaluable, especially during tough times.

The Peace of Following God’s Principles

Following God’s principles has brought an unprecedented level of peace to my life. I shut down my membership program, refunded annual fees, and stopped one-on-one coaching for a while. Despite these changes, I found myself more financially abundant than ever. Opportunities and blessings came my way, affirming that I was on the right path.

Trusting in God’s Provision

Through this journey, I learned to trust in God’s provision. I realized that abundance isn’t just about money, but also about peace and contentment. My life now feels more aligned with my values, and I have a clearer sense of purpose.

Overcoming Shame and Embracing Faith

One of the biggest hurdles was overcoming the shame and guilt of past mistakes. I realized that the Lord doesn’t want us to come to Him perfect. Just like a child comes to their parent without shame, we should come to God openly and honestly. This realization lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

The Lord wants us to come to Him without barriers like shame or ego. Shame is our downfall. The Lord wants us to approach Him as a child would their parent, without shame, and ask anything.

No matter where you are in life, you can choose to follow the Lord. Over time, things will make more sense. I have more peace in my life now than ever before. Closing my membership and refunding people didn’t bring regret but a sense of peace. I’ve actually earned more by letting go and trusting the Lord. Opportunities have come to me, and I’ve found abundance in unexpected ways.

Moving Forward with Faith

To anyone who feels they have strayed too far from their faith, I want to say that it’s never too late to turn back to God. You don’t need to be perfect to start following His path. From wherever you are, just choose to follow the word of the Lord. Things will start to make sense, and you will find the peace that surpasses all understanding.

When you feel judged by others, remember that true believers should help you find the Lord, not judge you. I also realized the importance of surrounding myself with Christian friends who give advice in line with the word of God. Non-Christian friends are fine, but Christian friends can provide biblically-aligned support during tough times.

In conclusion, speak to the Lord about your issues and let Him teach you. This journey has shown me that true peace and abundance come from following the Lord’s principles.

Thank you for reading. I look forward to sharing more with you as I continue this journey.

With love and faith,

Scherise. x

Modesty has been in my heart for a while now, and it’s a journey I’m still walking through, learning more each day. For me, modesty goes beyond the way I dress; it’s about humility, discretion, and choosing to honour God in how I present myself to the world. It’s about not only covering my body […]
