Hello, my darling,
Welcome back to the blog! I’m sitting here in my cosy living room, one of my favourite places to unwind after a busy day. The rain is softly tapping against the window, which makes the room feel even more snug. I’ve got my comfy jumper on and a cup of vanilla tea in hand, the warm steam swirling up and filling the room with a soothing smell. There’s something so comforting about sipping tea while tucked under a soft blanket on the couch, just letting the day melt away. The soft glow from the lamp adds a peaceful vibe, and I can’t help but feel so grateful for these little moments of calm.
Today, I wanted to share something that’s been on my heart, 7 biblical habits that I’ve found to be life-changing. As I’ve been thinking about my spiritual journey I realised that it’s these simple habits that have helped me grow closer to God, live with more peace, and feel more grounded. Life can get busy, but having these habits in place has really helped me stay focused and centred.
So, grab a cup of tea (or whatever your drink of choice is!) and let’s dive in:
1. Find a Mentor or Be a Mentor
It’s such a blessing to have someone to guide you on your journey. A mentor can offer wisdom, encouragement, and a listening ear. And if you’ve been in a place of growth, consider being a mentor for someone else. It’s such a rewarding way to serve and share God’s love.
2. Declutter Your Space
I’ve learned that our physical environment really affects our mindset. A cluttered home can often lead to a cluttered mind. Taking time to clear out the unnecessary stuff from your space can create a peaceful environment, and honestly, it feels so good! It’s amazing how a tidier space can bring more clarity and peace into your life.
3. Put on Habits That Serve You & Take Off the Ones That Don’t
Just like we pick our outfits each day, we get to choose the habits we “put on.” Are they serving you? Are they helping you grow in faith and joy? If not, it’s time to let go of the ones that are weighing you down.
4. Forgive Others (And Yourself)
Forgiveness is such a powerful act. It’s not always easy, but it’s necessary for peace in our hearts. We need to forgive others, but we also need to forgive ourselves. Letting go of past mistakes and hurts allows us to experience God’s grace more fully.
5. Prioritise Three Things
Life can be overwhelming, but I’ve found that focusing on the three things that matter most helps me stay balanced. Whether it’s your relationship with God, your family, or your health, prioritising just a few key areas makes life a lot more manageable and fulfilling.
6. Day of Rest (Sabbath)
This one is so important, yet so easy to overlook. God commanded us to rest, and trust me, we need it. Taking a day each week to recharge helps us stay connected to God and avoid burnout. It’s a beautiful reminder that we’re not meant to do everything on our own.
I hope these habits resonate with you. They’ve been such a blessing in my life, and I believe they can help you too. Life’s not about perfection, but about making small, intentional choices that draw us closer to God each day.
Let me know which habit you’re planning to try, I’d love to hear about your journey.
Until next time, stay blessed and take care of yourselves. 💖
