Hello, lovely readers! 🤍
Welcome back to the blog. I hope this blog post finds you well and at peace. This morning was a bit more quiet than usual in my household, and I’m so grateful for that. I began my day with my devotional, which I’m currently doing with a friend, and spent some quiet moments in prayer. There’s something so beautiful about sitting in stillness, inviting God into the silence, and allowing Him to centre my heart before the day unfolds.
Of course, not every morning looks like this, life with little ones often means unpredictability, but today, God gifted me with the grace of extra time as my daughter slept in a little longer. It gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into His Word and enjoy breakfast in peaceful quietness. These moments remind me of His faithfulness in both the calm and the chaos.
Now, I’m thrilled to share a testimony that’s been on my heart, one that I pray will encourage and uplift you as you seek Him more deeply in your own life.
Falling into the Trap of New Age Spirituality
A few years ago, I found myself immersed in New Age practices. On the surface, it seemed like I was seeking enlightenment, peace, and a deeper connection with the universe. But behind the yoga, manifestation rituals, and “spiritual awakening” seminars, I felt an emptiness that I couldn’t shake.
The New Age movement often promotes the idea of being your own god manifesting your own destiny and finding “truth” within yourself. For a while, I believed in it. I read all the books, followed all the steps, and cherished the idea that I was in control of my life. But what I didn’t realise was that this path was pulling me further from the real Truth. I was searching for fulfilment in places that only led to confusion and spiritual isolation.
Leaving the Fashion Industry
At the same time, I was working in the fashion industry, a space that I once thought was my dream come true. I loved the creativity, the hustle, and the opportunity to work with inspiring people. But over time, I began to notice how much this industry was rooted in self-glorification and politics rather than genuine creativity.
Fashion became more about keeping up appearances than about celebrating individuality or honouring God. My identity was tied to my work, my achievements, and how others perceived me. It became exhausting, and I started questioning if this was the life I was called to live.
Encountering Jesus
Everything changed when I began to feel the Lord tugging at my heart. At first, I ignored it. I was so deep into New Age beliefs that I didn’t think Christianity was for me. But God, in His mercy, wouldn’t let me go. He planted seeds through conversations with friends, moments of reflection, and even my growing disillusionment with New Age practices.
One pivotal moment was when I prayed earnestly, “Lord, if You’re real, reveal Yourself to me.” I can’t fully describe the peace and warmth that washed over me during that prayer. It was as if God was saying, “I’ve been here all along, waiting for you to come home.”
Shortly after, I started reading the Bible with an open heart. Scripture came alive for me, especially verses like John 14:6, where Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” That verse hit me hard. I realised that all my searching for truth had been leading me to Him.
Walking in Faith
Leaving New Age and stepping out of the fashion industry wasn’t easy. I had to unlearn so much and let go of the things I once held dear. But in surrendering to Christ, I found a freedom I never knew I needed. My identity is no longer tied to my job title, my accomplishments, or the opinions of others. My worth comes from being a child of God.
A Word for You
To anyone reading this who feels lost, disillusioned, or stuck in a cycle of searching, I want to encourage you to turn to Jesus. The world offers a lot of temporary fixes, but only God can truly fill the void in your heart. As Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all who labour and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest.”
Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

Jesus calls each of us to Him, and there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing His love change lives.

As you go through your day, I encourage you to find a moment, no matter how brief, to sit with the Lord in silence, invite Him into your heart, and let His peace guide you.
Until next time, remember that you are deeply loved and wonderfully made. Stay strong in your faith, and may His light shine through you always. đź’–
