Hello darling,

Welcome back to the blog! Have you ever felt like your life was spiralling out of control just as you were starting to draw closer to God? As I sit here on my sofa, wrapped in a cosy grey cardigan and sipping on a warm cup of mint tea, I can’t help but reflect on how this has been my reality lately. The morning light is coming through the window, and the house is quiet, just the way I like it when I need to clear my thoughts.

Recently I’ve been struggling to sleep, with my mind racing from one worry to the next. Last night was another sleepless one, filled with thoughts about my responsibilities, my faith, and even my doubts. What prompted me to write this blog post was the realisation that these moments of overwhelm often come when I’m trying to draw closer to God. The enemy sees the progress and tries to derail it, and I know I’m not alone in feeling this way.

This topic is important to me because I want you to know that you’re not alone, either. If you’re in a season where life feels heavy and confusing, I hope this blog post can help remind you that God’s strength is greater than the chaos we face.

The Reality of Spiritual Warfare

The closer you move towards God, the more the enemy tries to pull you away. Spiritual warfare is real, and the enemy’s goal is clear: to disrupt your relationship with God, plant seeds of doubt, and keep you from walking in your purpose. I’ve experienced seasons where the attacks felt relentless, and moments when I questioned my worth, my path, and even my faith.

But here’s the truth: God is stronger than any attack. The Word tells us, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped” (Psalm 28:7). It’s this truth that keeps me going, even when I feel like giving up.

Feeling Lost but Not Forgotten

Feeling lost can be one of the most disorienting experiences. It’s like walking through a dense fog where you can’t see the road ahead. For me, those moments of being lost often coincided with spiritual attacks. The enemy uses these feelings to make us believe that God has abandoned us, but that’s the furthest thing from the truth.

In the Bible, David cried out to God in his moments of despair, saying, “Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?” (Psalm 10:1). Yet even in his lowest moments, David never stopped seeking God, and neither should we.

God’s Strength in Our Weakness

One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned during spiritual warfare is that God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When I feel lost, I remind myself that I don’t have to have all the answers. God’s plan is bigger than my confusion, and His timing is always perfect.

Sometimes, feeling lost is God’s way of drawing us closer to Him. In those seasons, I’ve learned to lean into prayer, even when the words don’t come easily. I’ve learned to worship through the tears and immerse myself in Scripture, allowing God’s Word to renew my mind and spirit.

The Power of Community

Another thing that has helped me is surrounding myself with people who encourage my walk with Christ. Sharing my struggles with trusted friends or mentors has often been the breakthrough I needed. There’s something powerful about being vulnerable and allowing others to pray for you.

When I read the emails I receive from readers, I’m reminded of how many of us are fighting similar battles. Spiritual warfare can feel isolating, but we are not alone. We are part of a body of believers who can support and uplift each other.

Staying Firm in God

In these seasons of warfare and confusion, staying rooted in God is non-negotiable. Here are a few things that have helped me:

  1. Daily Prayer: Even when you don’t feel like it, pray. Prayer is your direct line to God.
  2. Worship: Put on worship music and let it fill your space. Worship shifts the atmosphere and draws you closer to God.
  3. Scripture: Read the Word. Verses like Isaiah 41:10 (“Do not fear, for I am with you”) remind us that God’s promises never fail.
  4. Community: Reach out to friends, church groups, or online faith communities for support.

A Season, Not a Lifetime

If you’re feeling lost right now, remember this: this is a season, not a lifetime. God is working even when you can’t see it. Just as gold is refined by fire, your faith is being strengthened through these trials.

As I go through my battles, I’m constantly reminded that God’s plans are to prosper me and not to harm me, to give me hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). That promise is for you too.

So, hold on. Keep seeking Him. Trust that even in the middle of the storm, God is with you, guiding you back to His purpose and His peace.

Let’s encourage one another in the comments. Share your story, prayer requests, or even a Scripture that’s helped you through difficult times. We are in this together, and God has already claimed victory for us.

As I finish my tea and look out into my garden, I’m reminded of how seasons change, both in nature and in our lives. This season of spiritual warfare has been exhausting, but it’s also been eye-opening. Writing this blog post today felt like a release, a chance to put my thoughts into words and remind myself, and you, that God is still in control.

What’s been on my heart lately is the importance of not letting the enemy’s attacks make us forget God’s promises. He’s with us, even in the sleepless nights, the overwhelming days, and the moments when we feel like giving up. That’s why it’s so important to keep seeking Him, no matter how heavy life feels.

I want to encourage you to take some time today to pause and reflect. Have your favourite tea, light a candle, or find a quiet corner to sit with God. Remember, this season won’t last forever. Share in the comments what’s been on your mind lately, your struggles, your prayers, or a Scripture that’s helping you stay strong.

Let’s lift each other up and remind ourselves that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. You’re in my prayers, and I’m rooting for you. Stay blessed and rest in His perfect peace. 💛
