Hello darling!

Welcome back to the blog! Today has been one of those days where I’ve spent my time organising and refreshing my home, a little thing I like to do at least once a week. It’s not about perfection, but about creating a space that feels renewed and welcoming. I usually pick one area for a deep organising session while giving some love to the main spaces, replacing the flowers on the dining table, refilling sugar jars, and swapping out the bathroom rugs, towels, and flannels for fresh ones ect.

As I was moving through these tasks today, it reminded me how much our lives are like our homes. Sometimes they need a bit of organising and renewal too, especially during the harder seasons. It’s not always easy, but every effort we make to bring things into order, whether in our homes or our hearts, is worth it.

As I was tidying up today, I realised how much this mirrors life. Just like our homes, we go through seasons that feel messy, overwhelming, or even stagnant. But no matter how challenging or long a season feels, one thing is certain: this season will pass.

I think it’s important to acknowledge that the struggles we face are real. If you’re in a season of hardship, it’s okay to feel the weight of it. We live in a world that tells us to push through, to be strong, and to just keep going. But let’s be honest, sometimes life doesn’t give us the strength to push through on our own. We can feel spiritually dry, emotionally drained, and mentally exhausted.

I’ve been in seasons where I felt completely overwhelmed, like I was walking through a desert with no water in sight. There was a time when I was waiting for God to open a door in my life, and it felt like I was waiting forever. I prayed, I believed, but nothing was changing. At that point, I started questioning everything. Was I doing something wrong? Had I missed God’s timing?

But here’s the truth I’ve learned: the waiting is part of the process. God isn’t distant when we’re in the waiting. He’s with us, shaping us, and preparing us for what’s next. And though it’s difficult, He is using the season to build something in us that we wouldn’t get any other way.

Waiting with Expectation

In my own waiting seasons, there was one thing that kept me going: the belief that God was doing something behind the scenes. I couldn’t see it yet, but I believed that He was working all things together for my good (Romans 8:28). Even when we don’t feel Him, He is at work.

Waiting can be hard. It can be frustrating. But it’s also an opportunity to grow our faith. The key to waiting well is being expectant. This doesn’t mean sitting back and doing nothing, hoping God will just take care of everything. It means actively trusting, praying, and continuing to seek God’s will, even when things look bleak.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that God doesn’t waste our waiting. It’s easy to look at a difficult season and feel like it’s a waste of time like we’re stuck and going nowhere. But God is always working in us during those times. He’s shaping our character, refining us, and preparing us for something greater.

Think about a tree. A tree goes through many seasons, it has to endure the cold of winter, the heat of summer, the dryness of droughts, and the strength of storms. But with every season, it grows stronger. And when the right time comes, it bears fruit. We are the same way. Sometimes, we need to go through seasons of pruning, testing, and waiting to grow into the people God has called us to be. And just like that tree, the fruit will come in due season.

The Process

It’s not always easy to find any love in the process, but I’ve come to realise that the process is just as important as the outcome. We live in a world where we want instant results, immediate answers, and quick fixes. But God doesn’t always work that way. Sometimes, He takes His time to prepare us for what’s coming.

Think of the story of Joseph in the Bible. Joseph had a dream, but before he could step into the fulfilment of that dream, he went through years of hardship. He was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned. And yet, during all that pain and suffering, God was with him. He was working all things together for Joseph’s good and for God’s ultimate glory.

It can be hard to understand why we go through certain things, but we must trust that God knows what He’s doing. He is the Creator, and He sees the big picture. We are just seeing the small pieces, but He’s working behind the scenes to put it all together. And even though we may not always understand the process, we can trust that it’s leading us somewhere beautiful.

A Temporary Season

One of the most comforting truths I’ve held on to in difficult times is that no season lasts forever. Every season, whether good or bad, has an expiration date. Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Seasons change. The hard season you’re facing right now will not last forever. There is an end in sight, and on the other side of this season, you’ll be stronger, wiser, and more prepared for what God has for you.

Think about the changing seasons in nature. Winter may feel long and harsh, but spring always comes. It may feel like you’re stuck in a dark and cold season, but know that the light will break through. The flowers will bloom, and the sun will shine again. And when that season of breakthrough comes, it will be even more beautiful because you’ve walked through the waiting and the struggles.

Sometimes, we have to hold on to this truth when everything around us seems to be falling apart: This too shall pass. This season, no matter how hard, is only temporary. God is using it to shape you for the next chapter of your life. So, don’t lose heart. Keep going. Keep trusting. Keep believing.

Trusting God in the Waiting

One of the hardest things to do in a difficult season is to trust God when everything feels uncertain. But trust is the foundation of our faith. If we can’t trust God in the hard times, how can we trust Him in the good times?

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. In other words, we don’t have to have all the answers. We don’t have to figure everything out on our own. God already knows the way. He knows what we need, when we need it, and how it’s all going to work out.

Even if you don’t know what tomorrow holds, trust that God is already there. He has a plan for your life, and He will guide you through every season.

Peace And the Storm

As we go through tough seasons, it’s important to remember that peace isn’t the absence of difficulty. It’s the presence of God in the midst of it. When Jesus calmed the storm in Mark 4, He didn’t remove the storm; He brought peace to His disciples in the middle of it. That’s the kind of peace that we can have, too. It’s not about avoiding hard times, but about knowing that God is with us through it all.

When I’ve faced struggles, I’ve learned to pray for peace that surpasses understanding. Peace that doesn’t make sense in the natural, but peace that comes from knowing that God is in control. And that peace doesn’t come from the circumstances changing, it comes from trusting in His presence and His promises.

Expectants for What’s Next

As you walk through this season, hold your head up high and remain expectant. Trust that God is working on your behalf, even when you can’t see it. He is orchestrating everything for your good and His glory. So, when the tough times feel like too much, remember: this season will pass.

Your breakthrough is coming. The fruit will come. And when you look back, you’ll see how God used this season to bring you closer to Him and prepare you for the incredible things ahead.

Just like I refresh my home each week, our lives go through their own seasons of renewal and change. The challenges we face, no matter how overwhelming, are only temporary. Every season, whether it’s one of struggle or growth, has a purpose in God’s plan for us.

So, as you go through the season you’re in, remember that it won’t last forever. Trust that God is at work, shaping you, strengthening you, and preparing you for what’s next. Just like the flowers I replace on my table each week, your season will bloom into something new and beautiful in its time.

Hold on to hope, stay faithful, and trust in the One who makes all things new. This season will pass, and the next will bring blessings you can’t yet imagine.

Stay encouraged and be blessed. x
