Hello Darling,
Welcome back to the blog! Today I wanted to talk about waiting on God’s timing, which can often feel incredibly challenging. Here is the thing, we live in a world where instant gratification is often expected, and the uncertainty of waiting can make us feel as though we are out of control. However, as believers, we are called to trust in God’s timing, knowing that His plan for us is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our own desires or expectations.
In my own life, I’ve experienced moments where waiting felt like a test of patience and faith. Whether it’s in relationships, career changes, or personal growth, there are times when it feels like we are stuck, waiting for the right moment. But I’ve learned that the waiting seasons are not wasted, they are often the times when God is preparing us for something greater than we could ever imagine.
The Struggle of Waiting
Waiting is hard. It’s not fun, and it often feels like it stretches on forever. I’ve found myself questioning why things aren’t moving faster, why I’m not seeing the results I want, or why others around me seem to be getting exactly what they prayed for. But here’s the truth: God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t make sense in the moment.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of God’s good intentions: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” When I’m in a season of waiting, I lean into this verse. I remind myself that God’s plans are better than mine, even if I can’t fully understand them yet. His purpose is always to prosper me and lead me into the future He’s carefully designed for me.
Trusting God’s Timing
So, how do we trust God’s timing? First and foremost, it starts with faith. Faith means knowing that God is in control and that His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t seem like it. When I find myself anxious about waiting, I remember to surrender my worries to God. I pray for patience and trust that He will show me the way when it’s the right time.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that God’s delays are not His denials. Just because something hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t. In fact, it could mean that God is protecting me from something I can’t see or preparing me for something far greater than what I initially imagined.
The Blessing of the Waiting Season
It’s easy to get caught up in our desire to move forward, to take the next step, or to reach the next goal. But often, God uses the waiting seasons to refine us. Just like gold is purified by fire, we are refined and shaped by our patience and trust in God. Waiting can be a time of personal growth, spiritual development, and preparation for what God has ahead.
For example, if I’m waiting on a new job, I might not realise that the season of waiting is an opportunity to strengthen my character, learn new skills, or deepen my relationship with God. Instead of rushing through the season, I’ve learned to cherish the present moment and allow God to use it for His purposes.
Being Present in the Waiting
During times of waiting, I’ve also learned the importance of being present. It’s tempting to look ahead to what’s next, but God calls us to live fully in the moment we are in right now. Whether it’s spending time with family, focusing on my personal health, or deepening my relationship with God through prayer and Bible study, the waiting season can be just as important as the answer to our prayers.
When we are present in the waiting, we experience the beauty of God’s peace, even in the midst of uncertainty. This peace is a sign of His presence with us and a reminder that we are never truly alone in the process.
Trusting That His Plan Is Best
In the waiting, I hold on to the truth that God knows exactly what I need and when I need it. His plan for my life is far better than anything I could plan for myself. There have been moments when I’ve been tempted to take matters into my own hands, but I’ve learned that doing so often leads to unnecessary stress and heartache. Instead, I trust that God’s plan is unfolding perfectly, even when it’s not according to my timeline.
Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” In those moments when waiting feels too hard, I remind myself of this verse. I choose to be strong, to take heart, and to wait with the knowledge that God is working behind the scenes, preparing something wonderful for me.
Conclusion
Waiting on God’s timing isn’t easy, but it is worth it. Through my own experiences, I’ve learned that trusting in His perfect timing brings peace, growth, and ultimately, fulfilment. So, whether you are in a season of waiting for a job, or an answered prayer, I encourage you to trust that God’s plan for you is good. He knows what He’s doing, and when the time is right, He will make things happen in a way that’s better than anything you could have planned for yourself.
Remember, His timing is always right. So, let’s wait with patience, faith, and hope, knowing that the best is yet to come.
May you find peace in knowing that God’s plan is worth the wait. And always remember, Jesus loves you more than you can imagine.
Stay encouraged and trust His timing.
Sending blessings your way!
