Hello Darling,
Welcome back to the blog! As winter approaches, I’ve felt a pull to focus my heart and mind on getting closer to God. This season, I want to dedicate three months to a personal “winter goal” with the Lord, a focused time to leave behind any lukewarm habits and great a deeper relationship with Jesus. There’s something about the end of the year that makes us want to reflect and realign, and I’m ready to enter 2026 completely devoted. If this resonates with you, let’s lock in together and make this winter our season of spiritual growth.
Why 90 Days?
God can change so much in just a few months. Ninety days is enough time to develop lasting habits and step into new routines that glorifies Him. It’s also a perfect timeframe to press pause on distractions and give God the first place in our lives, finishing this year stronger and more connected to our purpose.
Step 1: Daily Time with God
Building a consistent time with God is foundational. Every day, carve out time to meet Him in His Word, pray, and listen. Morning can be a great time to start, setting the tone for the day, but whenever you can give God your best focus, whether it’s evening or a lunch break, commit to it wholeheartedly.
My goal is to spend at least 15-30 minutes each morning reading a chapter of the Bible, journaling, and praying. I’ll be studying the Gospels and Psalms, meditating on how Jesus lived and how I can model His example. This daily time with God reminds me to focus on His truths and avoid falling back into old, “lukewarm” ways.
Step 2: Leave Behind Lukewarm Habits
Lukewarm faith can look different for everyone, it might be drifting away from consistent church attendance, indulging in habits that pull us away from God, or just letting our prayer life fall to the wayside. Take a moment to identify what’s been making your faith feel lukewarm.
One habit I’m working on is limiting my time on social media and entertainment that doesn’t feed my spirit. Instead, I’ll fill that time with reading Christian books or listening to worship music. By shifting our focus, we create space for God to move in our lives and clear out anything that dampens us spiritually.
Step 3: Accountability
Sometimes, it can be hard to maintain motivation without community. Finding an accountability partner—a friend, family member, or sister in christ, can make a huge difference. Share your goals with them, check in regularly, and pray for each other. Let’s hold each other accountable through prayer, sharing struggles and victories, and reminding each other of God’s promises.
Step 4: Incorporate Worship and Gratitude
Worship and gratitude bring us closer to God, and they’re a beautiful way to focus on His goodness. Every evening, I plan to write down at least one thing I’m grateful for and one way I saw God move that day. This simple habit helps me to stay mindful of His presence and His blessings. Adding worship to our daily routine, whether it’s singing, listening to Christian music, or just taking a quiet moment to praise Him, keeps us connected to Him throughout the day.
Step 5: Surrender Your Goals to Him
As I reflect on the goals I set for myself, both spiritually and in other areas like health, relationships, and personal growth, I want to align them with God’s plan. Surrendering our dreams and desires to Him is key to living a life of faith. Take this time to ask God what He wants for you and trust His guidance. Let’s not just chase goals; let’s chase Him. When we put Him first, everything else falls into place.
The Results? A Deeper Relationship with God by 2026
By the end of this winter, I pray we’ll enter the new year feeling renewed, focused. If we dedicate these next 90 days to seeking Him, He’ll meet us there. He’s promised that when we seek Him with all our hearts, we’ll find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
If you’re ready to make this commitment, let’s lock in and see what God can do in our lives in 90 days. We have the opportunity to leave our lukewarm habits behind, draw closer to Him, and become the people He’s called us to be. Let’s not wait until next year, let’s start now. By this time next year, we could be walking in a level of faith we never imagined. So, here’s to our winter season of praise with God!
Sending blessings your way!
