Hello, my darling,
Welcome back to the blog! I’m sitting here in my cosy conservatory, one of my favourite spots in the house. Even though it’s a bit chilly today (because, let’s face it, it’s the UK!), the warmth from the heater keeps things just right. I’ve got a fresh cup of tea beside me, the steam rising gently from the cup, and the faint taste of vanilla in my mouth. There’s something so calming about the way the tea warms me from the inside out. The conservatory is full of natural light and surrounded by lush greenery, making it feel like I’m sitting right in the middle of nature. This space is actually one of the reasons I fell in love with the house when we first bought it, it’s like a peaceful retreat, no matter what the weather is like outside.
I’m also loving my outfit today, something simple but cosy for a day of writing. I’m wearing a soft, oversized jumper in a warm brown tone perfect for this weather and one of my favourite flowly, dresses. I paired it with some cosy socks because, as much as I love this room, it’s still a bit chilly, and I need to keep my feet warm! It’s the little comforts that make all the difference, isn’t it?
As I sit here, I find myself thinking about how God can use even the most ordinary, everyday moments to deepen our faith and bring joy into our lives. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, and sometimes we view our daily tasks as just things to get through. But when we take a moment to shift our perspective, we can realise that even simple acts can be special moments.
I was reminded of this recently when a reader shared a powerful story. She first found my content years ago when she was on a journey of creating her own online business – At that time, she didn’t know Christ. After the heartbreaking loss of her second child, she sank into deep grief, feeling as though she could never get through it. But God, in His mercy, led her back to faith, and to this community. Now, she’s found healing, peace, and a renewed sense of purpose. Hearing stories like hers reminds me that, even in the midst of life’s hardest seasons, God is always working, sometimes in the quietest, most unexpected ways.
That’s the beauty of God’s grace, isn’t it? He’s at work even when we don’t see it. And I think the same can be said for the tasks we take on every day. Whether it’s tidying up the house, washing dishes, or getting the kids ready for the day, these simple moments can be special when we approach them with a heart of gratitude.
I remember reading Hebrews 12:11: “No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterwards, there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.” I find this so comforting. Even the most mundane tasks, like cleaning or folding laundry, are opportunities to grow in patience, kindness, and love. They’re not just chores they’re acts of service. Each task, no matter how small, can be a way to love and serve others, and ultimately, to serve God.
For example, think about washing dishes. On the surface, it might seem like a boring, never-ending task. But when I do it, I remind myself that it’s an act of care for my family. I’m preparing a clean space for us to share meals together. It’s the same with making beds, folding laundry, or even making sure our daugther has what she needs for the day. These acts are small, but they’re meaningful when done with love. And as I’m learning more and more, it’s not always about the task itself, it’s about our hearts in the process.
A friend of mine recently shared how she feels guilty when she can’t keep up with everything, especially when she’s spending time with her children instead of keeping the house spotless. I know this is something many of us can relate to feeling torn between responsibilities. But sometimes, the most faithful thing we can do is be present in the moment, even if it means letting go of perfection. It’s okay if the house isn’t perfect, as long as we’re pouring love into the people around us. Our worth is found in our relationships, not in how clean the house is!
I’ve also been reminded by a reader who shared how she’s been journaling to have more joy. She writes down things she’s grateful for, big and small. Whether it’s a beautiful sunset or a cup of tea in the morning, focusing on gratitude helps shift our hearts and minds, even in tough seasons. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine,” and I believe this is such a powerful reminder that joy is not found in circumstances but in our hearts.
The same goes for our everyday lives whether we’re grocery shopping, running errands, or just sitting down with a cup of tea. We can choose to make these moments opportunities for joy. I’ve found that the more I have gratitude and purpose in the little things, the more I see how much of life is a gift.
So, my darling, I want to encourage you today to find joy in the little things. Whether it’s a quiet moment with a cup of tea in your favourite chair or the simple act of folding laundry, let’s remember that there is beauty in every part of our day. When we see these tasks as ways to serve God and others, they become special. And as we walk through each moment with gratitude, we are living out our faith in the most beautiful way.
I encourage to you to take a moment today to appreciate the small, everyday blessings around you. And as always, thank you for joining me. I’m so grateful for you.
Sending blessings to you!
